posted Sep 24, 2009, 4:13 AM by Jack Cadranel
On Monday 5th October our walking tour in Rehavia is called Yekkes in Spanish Streets.  Built in the 1920s as a "garden suburb" the upscale neighbourhood of Rehavia was home to many of Israel's early leaders.  We'll take in the neighbourhood's architecture and history, hear the stories of some of its more famous residents and find out why Yekkes were living in Spanish streets.
Meet at 9.30am at the corner of Keren Kayemet Le'Israel (KKL) and King George Streets.

On Wednesday 7th October we shall be touring the Southern Wall Excavations.  Herod's magnificent Temple was destroyed by the Romans in the Year 70 CE.  At its feet lie remains that span 2000 years of Jerusalem's history.  The tour is called In the Shadow of the Temple.  Come and explore!
Meet at 9.30am just inside the Dung Gate.

Each tour costs NIS 60 per person plus any site entry fees.  There is a site entry fee of NIS 30 for the Southern Wall Excavations.  Please register in advance 054-647-8955 or tourwithjack@gmail.com if you wish to join one of these tours.

Chag sameach!
