Succot on the road and walking in Jerusalem

posted Oct 13, 2011, 11:02 PM by Jack Cadranel
To celebrate Succot, Tour With Jack takes to the road on Monday on our Cho Hamoed day trip "From Herod to Herzl".

Our Jerusalem walking tour on Wednesday October 19th (Hoshannah Rabbah) is about Exile and Return. It follows the drama of the battle for the Jewish Quarter in 1948 and 1967. In the 1948 War of Independence the Jewish Quarter of the Old City was under siege. Despite the valiant fight of its defenders it fell to the Arab Legion just two weeks after the establishment of the State of Israel. The fighters were taken into captivity and the rest of the residents expelled. For 19 years until its recapture by Israeli troops in the Six Day War in 1967 Jews did not set foot in the Old City.
Meet at 9.30 a.m. just outside the Zion Gate. Please wear modest dress for this tour.
Please note that the schedule is subject to change and that tours will only take place if a minimum of three people have registered. Registration in advance is required. Call 054-647-8955 or email tourwithjack@gmail.com . Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and to bring hats and water. Wednesday's walking tour lasts 2-3 hours and costs NIS 70 per person plus site entry fees of NIS 10.
Booking is open now for our Chanukah day trip, "Tour With Jack in the Northern Negev".
